Where It all Began

OUR HISTORY

Manitoba Education, Research and Learning Information Networks (MERLIN) was established in 1995 as a special operating agency with the Department of Education. It was formed as a facilitating body to coordinate the delivery of technology services to the education community across Manitoba.

MERLIN currently operates under the Department of Innovation and New Technology.

The MERLIN office and our client network is located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Dene and Inuit, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Metis.

We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of Reconciliation and collaboration.
